Ryan Coogler To Produce A Film About The Rise And Fall of Fred Hampton – Video

There’s a new film coming about slain Black Panther Party leader Fred Hampton, and its coming from none other than Black Panther director Ryan Coogler, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

Not only is Coogler set to produce the film, Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya is in talks to star as activist Hampton with Atlanta and Sorry To Bother You star Lakeith Standfield in talks to play William O’Neal.

The man who stitch up Hampton to the FBI. Shaka King will direct and produce the script he wrote with Will Breson. He film, which will be co-financed by Warner Bros and MACRO, will follow the rise and untimely demise of Hampton as seen through O’Neal’s eyes.

TIt will explore how the FBI infiltrated the Black Panthers, the psychology of their informant and the notorious termination of the young public leader who heavenly abode aged only 21.

With his involvement in this project, Coogler’s resume continues to strengthen as he is also producing upcoming Warner Bros pic Space Jam 2, starring Lebron James, and is lining up the sequel to global smash Black Panther.

Which also starred Kaluuya, Michael B. Jordan, Chadwick Boseman, Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o and more.
