Youth now need to know more than ever that there are people who stand up for them and root them as they learn and grow, said Julia and Jennifer Hudson.
The pair held their 10th annual “Hatch Day” on Friday, giving backpacks filled with school supplies to needy students in Chicago. This year’s event was a mobile affair due to COV-19 restrictions, with the sisters and a group of 15 volunteers helping to deliver 2,000 backpacks over the city.
They also handed out face masks, hand sanitizers, and tablets, in addition to more traditional supplies such as pens and notebooks.
