Ethan Hill, a 9-year-old Birmingham boy, is trying to raise money to buy 100 sleeping bags and care packages for homeless people in Birmingham. This is the third year that Ethan has worked to help the homeless.
It started two years ago when he asked his parents to buy buckets to fill with supplies, and last year he bought 50 sleeping bags to hand out.
This year, he’s trying to be sure more people get help, so he has set his goal of buying 100 $10 sleeping bags. His uncle helped set up a fundraiser on social media in October and they say the response has been good but he still needs items for his care packages.
He plans to hand them out in Linn Park on December 22nd. Ethan said he is still in need of the following for the care packages:
Hats, Gloves, Socks, Gallon-sized Ziploc bags, Snacks, Toiletries The finishing time
for donations for the sleeping bags is December 1st, and the finishing time for items and donations for the care packages is December 13th. For more information call his mother, Ebony Hill, at 205-240-9004.
